Work questions go wrong in tarot when they are asked as fortunes: will I get it, will it pay, when. Cards are poor at dates and excellent at pattern. This spread is built to give you something you can act on by Friday — an honest picture of the position, the obstacle, the resource you are not using, and the move. The last card tells you what the move leads to, which is the part most career advice leaves out.

What is genuinely in the way. Sometimes a person; more often a habit.

The next concrete action. If you cannot name it by Friday, you have not read it yet.

What that move opens — the next room, not the whole building.
How to read it
- ✦Pentacles here speak about money and security; Wands about drive and momentum; Swords about strategy, conflict and clear thinking; Cups about whether the work still means anything to you. The suit mix tells you which conversation you are actually having.
- ✦If card 2 and card 3 are the same suit, the obstacle and the resource are the same force — usually your own intensity, aimed badly.
- ✦Card 4 must convert into one sentence starting with a verb. 'Ask for the number.' 'Finish the portfolio.' If it stays abstract, read it again against card 1.

Should I pull again after the interview?
Yes — the situation genuinely changed, which is the one good reason to re-read. Pull on what to do next, not on whether the answer is yes.
What if the move card frightens me?
Note whether the fear is about risk or about exposure. Risk deserves a plan; exposure usually just means the move is the right one and you would rather not.
